The cottages are situated in the Northumberland National Park on the banks of the river Coquet, opposite Harbottle Forest. The cottages sleep a range of numbers from 3, in Pheasant Lodge, to a larger party of 6, in Byre and Coquet Cottage.

The Farne Islands, a nature/wildlife reserve, is an attractive tourist spot along with the historical Holy Islands and the many castles in the area, including the popular Alnwick Castle for its involvement in the first two ‘Harry Potter’ movies. If all the peace and quiet of the countryside gets too much, don’t worry because only a short drive away is thriving market towns such as Alnwick and Morpeth and there are plenty of pubs/restaurants located nearby.
